Let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas.
Of course, the “true meaning” is different for everyone. It could be snuggling close to a loved one in front of the fireplace sipping sweet cocoa. It could be sitting under the tree on Christmas morning opening gifts. It could be gathering around the dinner table with family for delicious feasting and happy chattering.
Let us not make Christmas into a day for materials. Don’t count the number of gifts but instead remember the joy in receiving and giving. Don’t compare how expensive each gift is but instead remember to relish the sentimental value of each present. Don’t stress about the little things but instead remember to be thankful for all the important things.
Don’t be selfish and make the holidays about yourself. The holidays are about being with family and friends and bringing out the best in everyone. Even if this holiday means nothing to you, be respectful to those who it means the world to.
Stay true to whatever is the “true meaning” of Christmas for you. And to those who do not celebrate Christmas, happy holidays, and may you surround yourself with happiness! To those who still do not have power, may the holiday spirit brighten up the darkness.
P.S. I am thankful for a White Christmas! Snow!!!! 🙂
